How it works

The tool matches the end of the video to the end of the GPS file. If you shut down both devices at the same time it syncs flawlessly; otherwise use the offset field in the settings. The GPS data also finds the exit, opening and landing markers, and you can drag any of them to fine tune.

A FlySight writes 5 GPS records per second and an interpolation model calculates values for every frame, so the gauges stay smooth even when data frames are missing. Scoring for wingsuit and speedskydiving is derived automatically when available.

There are also hotkeys like on YouTube; Up/Down=Volume, Left/Right=go 5 seconds, F="Fullscreen," Space="Play/Pause" and the 0-9 keys.

Privacy

Your videos and GPS files stay with you

The tool runs entirely in your browser. Your video is never uploaded, your FlySight CSV is never uploaded, and rendering happens on your own machine. The CSV you picked is cached in your browser (IndexedDB) so it survives a reload, and your settings such as units, layout, offset and colour sliders live in local storage. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

What we store on the server

Only if you create an account, which you need for Pro:

Account: email address, password (hashed with bcrypt), whether the account is activated, subscription tier and renewal date.
Payments: your Stripe customer id, so we can match a subscription to your account.
Temporary tokens: activation and password reset tokens, short lived and then removed.
Sessions: a session cookie, a sign in cookie if you stay signed in, and a token cookie the site needs to work.
Security: your IP address in a rate limit record for up to one hour, so sign in and sign up cannot be brute forced.

Analytics

We count visits ourselves, no Google Analytics and no advertising networks. Without your consent no IP address is stored and your browser is recorded only as a short irreversible hash. If you accept analytics in the cookie banner we also store your IP address, browser, operating system, device type, referring page and how long you stayed.

Third parties

Stripe (USA and Ireland) processes the Pro subscription. Your email, name and billing details go to Stripe to handle the payment. We never see your card number.
Email: activation and password reset messages are sent through the outgoing mail of our own server.
Hosting: FlySight.video runs on a server in the EU.

What we do not do

No third party analytics, ad networks or tracking pixels.
No selling or renting of your data.
No social media buttons that load external scripts.

How long we keep it

Account and subscription data: as long as you have an account.
Activation and password reset tokens: hours to a few days, then removed automatically.
Rate limit records with your IP: up to one hour.
Visit statistics: kept in aggregate for as long as the site runs.

Your rights under the GDPR

Access: ask us what we hold about you.
Correction: ask us to fix anything that is wrong.
Deletion: mail us and we remove your account and data within 30 days. Cancel your subscription in the billing portal first, or ask us to do it for you.
Objection and portability: ask and we help you.
Complaints: if we fail to resolve a privacy issue you can contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
